Two centuries ago, the great dwarf smith Durgeddin the Black and his clan were driven from their home by a horde of fierce orcs and trolls. Fleeing his enemies, Durgeddin led the destitute remnants of his clan in search of a new home, which they eventually found in a great cavern system beneath the Stone Tooth. There Durgeddin and his followers built the stronghold of Khundrukar, but as fate would have it the clan would not last. A mere century after they founded the stronghold, the orcs learned of their enemy's new home and and raised a great army to lay siege to it. After months of hard-fought skirmishes, the orcs were eventually victorius and put every last member of the Durgeddin clan to the sword. Today all that's left of the once pround stronghold is a ruined fortress filled with all kinds of monsters who have moved in. Still, legends of Durgeddin’s Vengeance (or the Smith’s War) and the extraordinary blades the dwarves forged in anger still surface from time to time in the lands near the Stone Tooth, and the allure to adventurer's is strong despite the dangers within.
