Our Story
DM on Demand started as a desire to bring the skills our CEO was developing in two jobs closer together. He was working part-time for The Superhero Company performing superhero themed meet and greets and interactive birthday parties for kids, while also working one night a week at Hairy Tarantula as one of their professional Dungeon Masters. With the recent rise in popularity of Dungeons & Dragons (thanks in part to Stranger Things on Netflix), Joshua realized immediately that there would be rising demand for the hobby everywhere, especially among families with children who are excited to try the game but lack the knowledge of how to get started. Looking around he discovered that there really wasn't anyone offering this kind of entertainment, blending the hobby of D&D with for-hire event services, and quickly got to work building the first company of its kind.

Joshua Barbeau
CEO and Founder of DM on Demand.
Joshua is an honours graduate of Seneca College's Acting for Camera and Voice program and has been playing Dungeons & Dragons for more than 16 years.
To Joshua, D&D is more than just a hobby, it's his passion. After having spent a large part of his adult life trying unsuccessfully to build a career in theatre and cinema, Joshua turned to the one place he was having repeated success as an actor and storyteller: roleplaying games. Inspired by people like Felicia Day, Matthew Mercer, and Matt Colville, Joshua decided to take his interests in hobbyist culture and turn it into a career. As a professional entertainer and roleplayer, Joshua takes his games seriously. He's devoted to making sure each and every game he participates in inspires those around him to take their hobbies to the next level, and have a great time while doing it.
